What we do

• We encourage children to succeed academically and to participate in making their communities a better place.

• We recognize outstanding students in all Oregon School District Schools, culminating in the Ina and Maynard Stoehr Optimist Scholarship awarded to one OHS senior every year.

• We recognize adult members of our villages for their contributions to the well-being of the community, be it through volunteer or professional activities, including honoring at least one local police officer each year for outstanding service.

• We engage in community service, participate in community events, and sponsor family friendly events.

• We provide financial support to various youth activites and public safety enhancements.

• We maintain a childhood cancer fund to help families facing the challenges of childhood cancer.

​How to help

Please consider joining the Oregon-Brooklyn Optimist Club and make a difference in the lives of our communities. Alternatively, you may donate to our service club and help us recognize outstanding students and residents of Oregon and Brooklyn, or help others in need through charitable projects.
